Description
Molykote® L-0500 is a high-purity zinc-rich protective aerosol coating designed to deliver long-lasting cathodic galvanic protection to steel, ferrous alloys, and galvanized structures. By bonding tightly to iron surfaces, the metallic zinc sacrifices itself electrochemically to safeguard the underlying steel from rust, marine atmospheres, salt fog, and industrial pollution.

Applications

Application Guidelines
- Thoroughly clean, degrease, and mechanically de-rust the substrate (wire-brush or grit-blast to bare metal) before spraying.
- Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least 1 to 2 minutes after the internal mixing ball is heard rattling freely.
- Spray in thin, criss-cross coats from a distance of approximately 25 to 30 cm to obtain a uniform dry film thickness without sagging.
- Clear the valve nozzle after each use by turning the can upside down and spraying for 2 seconds until only propellant escapes.
